2023 Schafer Estate Syrah

Schafer is a tiny, one acre block of Syrah planted in the foothills of the Blue Mountains. The wine is so pretty aromatically with primary aromas galore of red and black fruit- easy to close your eyes and visualize fresh raspberries and blackberries being held right in front of your nose. The palate has a thought-provoking, almost Cabernet like edge with a glycerol sweetness, rich tannin structure, all in an unapologetic way. Flavors of more beautiful fruit and great acidity follow. Quickly becoming a secret favorite Syrah. Drink now through 2045.
